On July 5, 2020, I took a walk along the Ewing Park Nature Trail. I veered off of the trail and discovered the concrete pillar which supported a now long-gone streetcar bridge across the creek.

The street car lines developed in Ellwood City from about 1908 to the early 1920s. By the late 1930s, they had dissolved. One line ran from New Castle south to what is now the Ewing Park area. It crossed the Connoquenessing Creek into Ellport. From there, it crossed the creek again into Franklin Township. From there, it crossed the creek a third time into North Sewickley Township on its route to Zelienople.
